We’re still praying for our friend (and former Phoot Camper) Amit Gupta. Here’s an update on his leukemia treatment.There have been a lot of questions about what’s going on with Amit now that our deadline has passed. Hey hey hey everybody go and put yourself in the bone marrow donor registry! I did, about a week before Thanksgiving break (thanks to the Tufts Association of South Asians, who were doing a campaign to help in the effort to save Amit Gupta), and it’s really quick and really easy. I had initially shied away from putting myself in the registry because this one House episode had given me the impression that bone marrow donation is incredibly painful, doesn’t use anesthesia, etc etc. But that’s TOTALLY FALSE! They use stem cells taken from your blood to grow bone marrow, so it’s actually not painful and gross and scary at all!
